Love-n-Ego

Ego and its sidekick, pride, can destroy a relationship, regardless of what type of relationship it is, when one or both involved allow their pride and ego to have control, because this sets the stage to disallow reasoning, understanding, listening to the other's perspective, forgiveness, compromise, etc. and so preventing a resolution of an issue or issues. Issues left unresolved never go away and usually fester and escalate, making solutions more and more difficult to achieve. ♥

Communication

Humans tend to make life a whole lot more difficult than life needs to or should be. First, humans aren't all that great with being forthright and honest and just saying straight out what's on their mind. Then should another in their efforts to try and figure out what another's thinking, think wrongly, heaven forbid and the one left trying to figure them out gets blamed because they couldn't read their mind.

There's two very simple rules of thumb to follow to make life easier all the way around. First, one shouldn't do things they know they shouldn't and they won't then feel the need to lie and second, one should be honest, forthright, and clear and not beat around the bush. ♥

Empty-Vessels

Anyone can 'say' anything but standing behind one's words and/or carrying out what one says, keeping their word, is another matter. A person of integrity doesn't just 'say' words but carries out and stands behind, supports, their words. In other words, one must 'own' their words not just 'say' them. 

 It is rare to find someone who will 'actually' keep their word, especially in regards to confidentiality. Telling someone that what they tell you will remain just between them and you, does NOT mean that you can then go tell someone else what was told to you in confidence, regardless of 'who' you tell, whether they are your spouse, sibling, friend, a group you belong to, or whoever.

I have been chastised severely by a group of people who had a history of belittling people who made a complaint about something. So instead of focusing on the issue(s), they focused on making fun of those who asked for issues to be addressed. This group attacked me for refusing to go against my given word because I wouldn't give up names of those who had come to me expressing their concerns about something. They accused me of being disloyal, a traitor to the group because I wouldn't and I was even mocked for having and standing by my principles. But even so, I REFUSED to go against my given word. There's no better validation of your own self worth and integrity than to have principles and to uphold them, especially when others are trying to break you AND it speaks volumes about those who try to, for they display they have no principles nor integrity themselves, because if they did, they'd show respect towards one who does, not try to break them down or especially, poke fun at them for having and standing by their principles.

 I have found that oftentimes people just need to vent, get something off their chest that's bothering them; just need to talk something out with someone whether to validate their thinking or to obtain from another a different perspective. Repeating such a conversation is just inviting trouble. But there are people who just love to stir up trouble. I've learned the hard way that there are VERY, VERY, VERY few people who can be trusted to zip their lips and when they repeat something, they can't without colouring it with some negative twisting as well. A person who can't be trusted to keep their word, is a person who can't be trusted, period. ♥

Have you ever tried being nice with someone? ..Or tried to be understanding? ..Or show another a willingness to work an issue out with them? ..Or be Loving, kind, and compassionate? But in spite of all you try, all you get in return is foul treatment? 

 I think some people thrive on instigating and perpetuating an atmosphere of tension and dissension. Personally, I loathe it. I believe any problem can be resolved but when you have to deal with someone or ones who don't want to because they like and want friction, such people are impossible to work with. ♥

Feed-People-Lies

I have found this to be true more times in my life than I can count. Why people in general are more gullible and so willing to accept when they're told lies and yet, when they're told and shown the truth, they will pick the truth apart believing the truth is lies and even when provided factual data substantiating the truth, is beyond me and makes no sense.

So many problems between people both on a small scale and a large one are brought on because of lies that have been told and spread. More often than not, those who tell lies have an agenda, like for covering up something they are doing or have done they know is wrong. Then when another person (whistleblower) either learns the hidden truth or is connecting the dots of the hidden truth, the whistleblower is accused of lying. Since people in general believe lies more readily than will believe the truth, especially denouncing lies, exposing the liars and deceivers is so much more difficult than it should be, ultimately protecting the liars and deceivers. ♥

True-Beauty

Inner beauty, strength, and value is not "gender specific". Both a man and a woman can "choose" to be, have, and project these.

So often, as I wander around Facebook and other social sites, seeing the posts of my friends and on many pages, I see many shares about the beauty and so forth of women. Don't get me wrong, however. I'm not criticising this. But.. there are also many good and yes, beautiful men, not just or mainly women. ..And so, in all fairness, I would like to see more credit given to good men as well. The true beauty of a "person" is their inner beauty, in their strengths and in their values. ♥

There is an inner beauty, strength and value about a person:
- Who believes in, accepts, likes, and respects themselves, which enables them to do and be likewise with others.
- Who knows themselves, acknowledging both their pluses and their minuses.
- Who chooses empathy over apathy in regards to others.
- Who knows they are capable of anything they put their mind to.
- Who forges and follows their own path, rather than blindly following along behind others.
- Who is not thrown off by obstacles along the way, including by others who are determined to deter them.
- Who's reasoning and intelligence comes from experience and lessons learned therefrom.
- Who knows they can fall, can fail, but can and do pick themselves back up again and move forward as an 'improved'... "work in progress".
- Who, knowing they themselves can and do make mistakes from which they themselves learn from, accept that others must also be afforded the same courtesy.
- Who takes a stand and then stands by it, especially when tested.
- Who realises their own inner beauty, strengths, and values, can and will intimidate others who only wish for the same to be present within themselves.
- Who’s confidence is the result of... all of the aforementioned. ♥

Fearing-Failure

Life is pretty much about trial and error, making mistakes and then seeing what and how something went wrong and then working on correcting the mistake/error part(s) until we get it right, therefore reaching success. So, if we're afraid of making mistakes, we then remove the bridge that leads to success, we then deny ourselves the chance to learn and grow, to make progress and our life ultimately will become stale and monotonous. ♥
